Welcome to NMU Mathematics Placement Online Test

Please read the following instructions before you start the test:
- Please have your 8-digit NMU Identification
Number (NMUIN) ready.
- At the end of the test you will be asked to enter
your high school college preparation math grades of your senior year if
you took any. (These college preparation math courses should be at the
level of a pre-calculus course. The primary purpose is to decide if you
should be recommended for Calculus I).
- The use of a calculator and help from another person are not permitted.
Incorrect placement will
generally cause problems for you and the instructors later on. The results of this
test will not affect your admissions to NMU.
- Do not press ENTER key
during the test (ENTER means submit the answers),
use the mouse to select your choices.
- The test will last no more than 55 minutes, submit before time expires.
You need to either keep track of your own time or observe the clock at the
top of the web page.
- If you have already taken the NMU Math Placement Test before, then you can not retake it again.
- If you do not see formulas in the test, you need to move to another
computer to do the test.
- After you finish your test, be sure to click on the Submit button. The
Placement Results will be displayed on your screen. Please write down the recommended classes and bring it to the orientation.
