Here's my CV and teaching statement.

I grew up in the tiny town of Eva, Alabama. I moved north to college in South Carolina, where I played football and received a B.A. in Mathematics from Wofford Colege. I thru-hiked the Appalachian Trail in 2000.

I have a Master's degree in Mathematics, speacializing in knot theory, where I worked with Hugh Howards. I moved west to study geometry & topology under Ken Bromberg where I finished my Ph.D. in mathematics at the University of Utah.

I am an avid biker, kayaker, rafter, skiier and yogi, for a few pictures click here. I worked for several seasons as a whitewater rafting guide in Tennessee, West Virginia and Colorado.

I often find beauty and mathematics in the strangest of places.

I enjoy making and listening to music.

My wife is a professor in the Communication & Performance Studies Department at NMU.

We have two wonderful daughters.
