The Thirteenth Annual Northern Michigan University Invitational Programming Contest occurred on Saturday 24 March 2012 from 12:00 to 5:00 P.M. in Jamrich Hall.  Eighty-four students on thirty teams representing six universities participated.  This is a record for participants, teams, and universities, all three. 

Participating in the event were Algoma University (Sault Ste Marie, Ontario, CAN), The College of Saint Scholastica (Duluth, Minnesota, USA), Lake Superior State University (Sault Ste Marie, Michigan, USA), Michigan Technological University (Houghton, Michigan, USA), Northern Michigan University (Marquette, Michigan, USA), University of Michigan-Flint (Flint, Michigan, USA).

MTU won first place school, with LSSU coming in second, and NMU coming in third.

Here is the placement of the NMU teams.  Out of thirty teams total:

Tenth place:  TRY CATCH EM ALL (Adam M. Jacques, David A. Pfeiffer, Clayton J. Powell)

Fourteenth place:  ALL THE WAY (Joshua A. Chomicki, Joshua D. Fridstrom, Kurt D.Kilpela)

Eighteenth place:  STRING ME ALONG (Joshua M. Johnson, Matthew P. Menze, Taylor M. Rolison)

Twentieth place:  BEAUTY AND BRAINS (Zachary R. Dowd, Megan R. Kelley, Nicole D. Ross)

Twenty-sixth place:  I WANT SOME FRITOS DON'T TAKE IT SO HARD (Heather M. Arpoika, Kelsey M. Weister)

Twenty-eighth place:  BLUE MEANIES (Joseph D. Mills, Kyle T. Nosar, Nicholas E. Vajda)

Twenty-ninth place:  NMU ROBOTICS CLUB (Travis C. Crowe, Matthew J. Holliday, Grace E. Schuurmans)
